Yellow - the most straightforward groupPENNE, FARFALLE, RAVIOLI and LINGUINE are all pasta shapes - the most direct link on the board.
Green - mediumSAKE, GIN, BRANDY and MEZCAL are all alcoholic beverages.
Blue - harderFALAFEL, HUMMUS, KEBAB and TABBOULEH are all middle eastern dishes.
Purple - the trickiest groupEach word goes in front of CAKE to make a word or phrase: POUND + CAKE, SPONGE + CAKE, FRUIT + CAKE and ANGEL + CAKE.
