Yellow - the most straightforward groupBOOT, SHOE, SANDAL and SLIPPER are all types of footwear - the most direct link on the board.
Green - mediumROAM, DRIFT, STRAY and WANDER are all verbs meaning to wander aimlessly.
Blue - harderThe link is in the spelling, not the meaning: each word has the letters OWL hidden inside it - BOWL, HOWL, FOWL and SCOWL.
Purple - the trickiest groupEach word goes in front of STAR to make a word or phrase: ROCK + STAR, MOVIE + STAR, FALLING + STAR and LUCKY + STAR.
