Yellow - the most straightforward groupBOW, MAST, RUDDER and HULL are all parts of a ship - the most direct link on the board.
Green - mediumEach word goes in front of DRUM to make a word or phrase: KETTLE + DRUM, SNARE + DRUM, STEEL + DRUM and BASS + DRUM.
Blue - harderThe link is in the spelling, not the meaning: each word has the letters URN hidden inside it - RETURN, JOURNEY, BURNISH and TURNIP.
Purple - the trickiest groupKNIFE, PSALM, ISLAND and DEBT all fit words with a silent letter. As the purple group it is the hardest link to spot, often because some of these words look as if they belong elsewhere.
