Yellow - the most straightforward groupTROPOSPHERE, STRATOSPHERE, MESOSPHERE and THERMOSPHERE are all atmospheric layers - the most direct link on the board.
Green - mediumVIPER, COBRA, ADDER and MAMBA are all poisonous snakes.
Blue - harderLUPINE, FIREWEED, ARCTIC and POPPY are all northern flowers.
Purple - the trickiest groupEach word goes in front of MOTH to make a word or phrase: PEPPER + MOTH, DEATH + MOTH, CLOTHES + MOTH and TIGER + MOTH.
