Yellow - the most straightforward groupDAVIS, COLTRANE, PARKER and GILLESPIE are all jazz musicians - the most direct link on the board.
Green - mediumBOLOGNESE, CARBONARA, PESTO and ALFREDO are all types of pasta sauce.
Blue - harderFEMME, DETECTIVE, SHADOW and BACKSTAB are all film noir elements.
Purple - the trickiest groupEach word goes in front of DAVIS to make a word or phrase: MILES + DAVIS, BETTE + DAVIS, SAMMY + DAVIS and GEENA + DAVIS.
