Yellow - the most straightforward groupBOSUN, DECKHAND, STEWARD and GUNNER are all jobs on a ship - the most direct link on the board.
Green - mediumMAST, BOOM, GAFF and HALYARD are all boat parts.
Blue - harderBOWLINE, CLOVE, FIGURE and SQUARE are all maritime knots.
Purple - the trickiest groupEach word goes in front of ANCHOR to make a word or phrase: SEA + ANCHOR, SHEET + ANCHOR, DRAG + ANCHOR and DEAD + ANCHOR.
