Yellow - the most straightforward groupDUCHESS, COUNTESS, BARONESS and MARCHIONESS are all royal titles - the most direct link on the board.
Green - mediumTREBUCHET, CATAPULT, BATTERING and MANGONEL all fit the group siege equipment.
Blue - harderEach word goes in front of BREAD to make a word or phrase: GINGER + BREAD, SHORT + BREAD, SODA + BREAD and BROWN + BREAD.
Purple - the trickiest groupA sound-alike group: say each word out loud and it sounds like a different word: FOUR sounds like for, EIGHT sounds like ate, TWO sounds like too and NONE sounds like nun.
