Yellow - the most straightforward groupCOW, PIG, HORSE and HEN are all animals on a farm - the most direct link on the board.
Green - mediumSOLE, HEEL, LACE and TONGUE are all parts of a shoe.
Blue - harderWRENCH, DRILL, CHISEL and LEVEL are all things in a toolbox.
Purple - the trickiest groupEach word goes in front of SKIN to make a word or phrase: SNAKE + SKIN, DRUM + SKIN, BUCK + SKIN and THIN + SKIN.
