Yellow - the most straightforward groupTHORN, SPINE, PRICKLE and BARK are all tree defenses - the most direct link on the board.
Green - mediumMEALYBUG, WHITEFLY, SCALE and PSYLLID are all scale insects.
Blue - harderSPIRACLE, BLOWHOLE, NOSTRIL and STOMA are all breathing holes.
Purple - the trickiest groupEach word goes in front of BUTTERFLY to make a word or phrase: RED + BUTTERFLY, DEATH + BUTTERFLY, SWALLOWTAIL + BUTTERFLY and MONARCH + BUTTERFLY.
