Yellow - the most straightforward groupPARTITION, SCREEN, CURTAIN and DOOR are all room dividers - the most direct link on the board.
Green - mediumROLLER, BRUSH, SPRAY and TRAY are all painting tools.
Blue - harderPEPPER, SALT, CUMIN and GARLIC are all spice rack contents.
Purple - the trickiest groupETCH, SCRATCH, SCORE and GOUGE all fit verbs - make marks. As the purple group it is the hardest link to spot, often because some of these words look as if they belong elsewhere.
